“2026 CNY Blessing Gatherings for Displaced Families”

In response to the Diocese of Hong Kong’s call last August for greater pastoral care, our Foundation, together with the Blessing & Love Society, held two New Year Blessing Gatherings for displaced families on February 7 and 28, 2026. These took place at the hall of Tai Kok Tsui Catholic Primary School and at Caritas Yuen Long Chan Chun Ha Secondary School. With the help of volunteers from Blessing & Love Society, Missionaries of Charity, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the events brought the festive spirit of Hong Kong to refugee families living in Sham Shui Po, Yuen Long, and Tuen Mun. They also encouraged interfaith & intercultural exchange and helped families experience the love and blessing of Jesus.
Around 70 families, about 200 people in total, joined the gatherings. Guests enjoyed Chinese folk dances and choir singing by the Filipino group of St. Joseph’s Church Garden Road, listened to the priest’s Gospel sharing, and took part in interfaith prayers. The priest read from the Gospel of Matthew (2:13–15, 19–23), reminding families that Jesus Himself was once a refugee.
This was our Foundation’s first event dedicated to refugee families, and it was a precious chance to share Jesus’ love and fellowship with non-Christians facing hardship.
